Fiat has unveiled its competitor to the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, with the new Fullback ute, at the Dubai Motor Show.

If you’re feeling a strong sense of déjà vu, that’s understandable - apart from a redesigned front bumper and grille, lower door trim, and unique alloy wheels, the Fullback is otherwise a Mitsubishi Triton.

The Fullback will be offered in Europe with a full suite of Mitsubishi engines, including a 2.4 litre turbo diesel with a low output 113kW version, or a high output 133kW version, mated to either a five-speed automatic, or six-speed manual transmission.

Middle East and African markets will get a choice of 2.5 litre diesel engines rated at 81kW and 131kW, with five-speed auto or five-speed manual transmissions, as well as a 2.4 litre petrol engine coupled with a five-speed manual.

Two- and four-wheel drive options will be available depending on market and specification.

Three specification levels will be available across single, extra, and double-cab body styles, with cab-chassis versions also available,
