Ferrari has announced that it will unveil its latest special edition of the 458 Italia at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
Dubbed simply the 458 Speciale, it echoes the formula used by its predecessor, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia.
More power, more sophisticated electronics, stickier tyres and a revised aero package all help it go faster than the standard 458, while there's a few styling differences to let bystanders know that this is something... speciale.
Headlining the changes is the 458 Speciale's engine, which is similar to the 4.5 litre V8 used in all 458s but tweaked to produce more power.
Output rises from 419kW to 444kW, while torque remains at 540Nm. That makes this the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 ever built by Ferrari, and it will rocket the 458 Speciale to 100km/h in three seconds flat, and to 200km/h in just 9.1 seconds.
