Detroit Electric Reveals SP:01 EV Ahead Of Shanghai

Reborn EV brand Detroit Electric has revealed its SP:01 pure-electric sports car, ahead of an official debut at the Shanghai Auto Show this month.

Teased in a single image last month, the SP:01 follows a similar formula to the now-defunct Tesla Roadster by combining a bespoke electric drivetrain with underpinnings shared with the Lotus Elise.

All exterior panels aside from doors and the removable hardtop are unique, and constructed from carbon fibre (like the Tesla) light weight and strength.
