Citroen CEO, Linda Jackson, has revealed that the automaker is preparing a new comfort-focussed suspension system for launch in 2017.

The smooth riding hydropneumatic suspension system created by Citroen, and first used in 1954, is on its way out, with the current generation C5 the last vehicle in Citroen’s range to make use of the system.

In an interview with UK publication, Autocar, Citroen’s CEO outlined a modern successor to the hydropneumatic system, claiming that it will deliver the ride quality of the old system, but in a more modern way.
