New Chinese car brand Qoros has provided an early glimpse of its first-ever model with a series of sketches this week.

Qoros has already announced that its first model will be a small car, designed to take on the likes of Ford’s Focus and Volkswagen’s Jetta in the European market.

The model pictured uses a sedan bodystyle, and features contemporary styling not dissimilar to current Volkswagen and Kia themes.

The design shown here is the work of former MINI design boss Gert Volker Hildebrand, who now heads up Qoros’ design department.

“Very few designers have the chance to design the badge first, and then go on to reflect a completely new vision and dream by designing a brand’s first family of cars”, Hildebrand said.

"This is an exceptional opportunity, and I don’t believe there is anything more exciting for a designer."

Known internally as C11, the new sedan is set to debut in production guise at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March, and Qoros has confirmed a further two models will debut as concepts.

A hatch version is expected to figure, while Qoros is also said to be working on crossover and larger SUV versions of its modular architecture.
