BMW Australia has announced recalls for three of its model lines, as part of the still-growing global Takata airbag recall.

Models affected include the E46 generation 3 Series, E39 generation 5 Series and E53 generation X5 offered for sale between January 2000 and December 2004.

Some of the vehicles may have been impacted by previous recall action, however the replacement airbag modules may still be potentially faulty, requiring another replacement. Owners who have already had their vehicle recalled are urged not to disregard this recall.
