An Australian and a Romanian have teamed up to build a full-sized and fully-functioning car, made almost entirely from Lego.

Australian-based marketer and businessman, Steve Sammartino, and 20-year-old Romanian Raul Oaida made the dream a reality after securing funding from like-minded fans following a single post on Twitter.

Under the banner “Super Awesome Micro Project”, the pair obtained the half-a-million tiny plastic Lego bricks required for the car’s construction, which took place in Romania.

Following its completion, the car was then transported to Australia.

The car’s peak engineering achievement is its fully-functioning 256-piston engine - built entirely out of Lego bricks and powered by air - capable of propelling the car to a top speed of around 29km/h.
