Audi has confirmed that its new top-shelf TT RS Plus performer will join the brand's Australian line-up.

Speaking with TMR today, Audi Australia's Shaun Cleary confirmed that while a late 2012 or early 2013 debut is expected, exact numbers and specifications are still to be confirmed.

The TT RS Plus is propelled by by the same turbocharged 2.5 litre five-cylinder engine that motivates the 'regular' TT RS, but gains 15kW and 15Nm for a total of 265kW and 465Nm of torque.

Internationally, the TT RS Plus is offered with a six-speed manual and Audi's seven-speed S tronic transmission, matched to the very necessary quattro all-wheel-drive system.

Audi promises a 0-100km/h time of 4.3 seconds in manual form, making the TT RS Plus around 0.3 seconds quicker than the TT RS. The auto is quicker still, at 4.1 seconds.
