Audi's brand-new A3, revealed as a three-door hatch earlier this year, will reportedly bow in five-door form at next month's Paris Motor Show.

The report is with enthusiast site Carscoop, although no sources are offered. Recent spy photos reveal however that the new model is not far away, and a Paris debut is a good bet.

Rendered here by Photoshop wizard Khalil B, the shape of the A3 Sportback will likely follow the path of its predecessor and stablemates.

Expect a longer and slightly less-tapered roofline, along with the squat glasshouse and near-flat belt line of the new three-door model.

As with the recently launched A1 Sportback, and the existing A3 Sportback, little else on the styling front is likely to change.

In three-door form, the new A3 will be offered with a range of small turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, including the familiar 1.4 TFSI, the range-topping 1.8 TFSI and the 2.0 litre TDI diesel.

Depending on specification, six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions will be available.
