Aston Martin fans are waiving their Union Jack flags as the carmaker confirms that its new manufacturing plant will be built in the UK.

St Athan in Wales is the chosen site for the new facility, which will eventually build Aston Martin’s new crossover model.

The announcement will likely kill-off rumours of a future plant in an offshore location, such as the US or Easter Europe, at least until after 2020 when production is due to commence at the new factory.

The first sod of soil is set to be turned at the Wales location next year, which will span around 90 acres.
