Got a modified car? Sick of crawling past Johnny Law at part-throttle because of your... ahem... "non-standard" exhaust? Akrapovic might have the answer for you in the form of its remote-controlled variable exhaust system.

Called the Akrapovic Sound Kit, the system uses an electrically-actuated butterfly valve to reroute exhaust through extra baffling when you're trying to keep a low profile, or direct it through a shorter exhaust section when performance becomes a greater priority.

The system can be controlled by a cabin-mounted button or from an Android or Apple smartphone app, but will initially only be available for Akrapovic's own titaniuim exhaust for the Lamborghini Aventador when it launches in April.

Both methods rely on a Bluetooth link to control the exhaust valves.

A version for Harley-Davidson Touring and Dyna motorbikes will follow later, while the Sound Kit will presumably be engineered for other cars further down the line.

Granted, it's not the only remote-controlled variable exhaust system available on the aftermarket, but if you're one of the lucky few who own a Lamborghini Aventador AND have the budget for a titanium exhaust AND want to stay in the Police's good books, the Akrapovic Sound Kit could be just what you need.
