Hyundai has given its mid-size Sonata sedan range a revamp for the 2017 model year, slightly tweaking specifications across the board.

All models in the range now gain standard steering wheel paddle-shifters, while the Sonata’s tyre supplier has also changed, putting ‘premium’ rubber under each model.

Those two changes are the only alterations made to the base model Active, while the mid-grade Elite also picks up standard rain-sensing windscreen wipers, front park-sensors, an electronic park brake, and heated front seats.

Moving up to the Sonata Premium sees newly-added radar cruise control, lane change assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot detection as standard, improving the top-model’s safety systems.
