The two-door Mercedes-Benz C-Class range is set to go on sale in Australia, almost 21 months behind the arrival here of the four-door variants.

The new C-Class Coupe, which wears the C205 chassis designation, will be available initially in a three-model range, with two petrol engines (C 200 and C 300) on offer and one diesel engine (C 250 D).

Pricing for the C 200 Coupe kicks off from $65,900 before on-road costs, putting the two-door version at a $5000 premium compared to its sedan counterpart.

Unlike the sedan, however, all Coupes are equipped with AMG Line styling upgrades, LED headlights, a 360 degree camera, Artico-covered dashboard, and memory seats as standard.

Standard features in the C 200 also include Artico trim, DAB+ digital radio, automatic seat belt feeders, electrically adjustable front seats, five speaker audio, dual-zone climate control, active parking assist, nine airbags, and sports suspension.

Under the bonnet of the C 200 is a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 135kW of power and 300Nm of torque, offering a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 7.3 seconds and official fuel consumption rated at 6.0 l/100km.

The C 250 d is priced from $74,900 - $4,500 above the C 250 d sedan - and again includes the same standard upgrades as the C200, while also adding leather seat trim, keyless go entry and start, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a driver assistance package including lane keep assist, blind spot assist, and Distronic plus radar cruise control with steering assist.

Thanks to the 150kW/500Nm 2.1 litre four-cylinder diesel engine, the C 250 d can dash from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, while official fuel consumption sits at a miserly 4.4 l/100km.

Step into the C 300 and pricing starts at $83,400. With no engine equivalent in the sedan range, the C 300 means a $14,500 step up over the C 250 sedan.

That difference also includes premium Burmester audio and Comand online services, as well as a more powerful engine and a sports exhaust system.

The engine in the C300 is a 180kW/370Nm 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder, lifting outputs by 25kW and 20Nm over the C 250. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.0 seconds and fuel consumption sits at 6.6 l/100km.

Petrol C-Class coupes features a seven-speed automatic transmission as standard, while the C 250 d is fitted with a nine-speed automatic. All models are rear-wheel-drive.

Set to arrive soon after the regular C-Class Coupe range, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupe will sit at the top of the range, powered by a 375kW/700Nm twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8 engine.

Pricing for the C 63 S starts from $162,400, or $7890 more than the C 63 S sedan. For an extra $10,900, a limited Edition 1 package is also available (above), offering Selenite Grey magno paint, yellow decals, and ceramic brakes.

The C 63 S does the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds, with power sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed multi-clutch transmission, while fuel consumption is rated at 8.7 l/100km.

The C 63 S also features AMG performance seats, Digital TV tuner, head-up display, heated front seats with Nappa leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof. The Edition 1 adds matt carbon trim, yellow accent stitching on the seats and dash, with yellow-accented dials.
