Following on from updates made to the 3 Series range late last year, BMW Australia has followed suit with that car’s two-door (and four-door coupe) sibling the 4 Series. Mechanical upgrades apply to nearly every variant, and spec levels have been fattened up while prices have plummeted.
The value-for-money equation is especially sharp in the range-topping 440i, which replaces the 435i in the range and boasts more power and torque while simultaneously shedding $10,000 from its sticker price.
However, while the 3 Series gained an attractively-priced 3-cylinder entry model in the 318i, the 4 Series will remain 3-cylinder free for now.
420i/420d
As before, the range begins with the 420i and 420d Coupe and Gran Coupe, with the 420i dropping below the $70k mark to rest at $68,990 in Coupe and Gran Coupe form - a reduction of $2200. 420d Coupe and Gran Coupe pricing falls by the same amount, with a new retail price of $71,200.
Convertible variants of the 420i and 420d drop by $2500, with new pricing of $85,900 and $88,200 respectively.
