2014 Toyota Kluger Teased Ahead Of New York Auto Show Debut

Toyota has handed down the first teaser for its upcoming 2014 Kluger, ahead of the SUV's official unveiling at next week's New York Auto Show. 

The single and closely-cropped image reveals the new Kluger will continue the front-end theme of the current model, with a tall grille flanked by sharp and slender headlights. 

Toyota remains tight-lipped on the details, although we can expect styling cues from the carmaker's newer model to appear on the 2014 Kluger.

Engine options for the new Kluger are expected to include a 133kW 2.5 litre petrol four and, unlike the new four-cylinder only RAV4, a V6 engine will likely also appear. Expect Toyota's 200kW 3.5 litre V6 to feature.

A hybrid version of the Kluger is also available in overseas markets, matching a V6 with an electric motor.

As with the current model, Toyota is not expected to offer a diesel option with the new Kluger, and the next hybrid model is also not expected to get a right-hand-drive option.
