PEUGEOT 308 EUROPEAN CAR OF THE YEAR
Peugeot’s all-new 308 hatch has become the company’s first European Car of the Year winner since 2002 - when the 307 took out the prize.
That model wasn’t a direct ancestor to this new 308, however, with another 308-badged generation carrying the baton from 2008 to 2013.
(The ‘30X’ family has made a number of back-and-forth hops over the years, but Peugeot says they’ll all wear the 308 badge from now on.)
In becoming this year’s winner, the 308 beat out an impressive list of finalists that included the fresh new Mazda3, the BMW i3, Tesla’s Model S sedan, Skoda’s revitalised Octavia, the big Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the new Citroen C4 Picasso.
