Hyundai has revealed an updated look for its small ix35 SUV, debuting in Korea this week as the 2014 Tucson ix.

While an earlier vehicle spied in Korea last year revealed a Veloster Turbo-like grille design, this official update sees the popular ix35 take a leaf from the new Santa Fe's style book.

A sharp new three-louvre grille replaces the dual-port design of the current model, while the headlights score redesigned internal elements.

Styling revisions to the 2014 ix35 are otherwise light-on, with the bumpers and profile remaining unchanged. Changes to the rear end are limited to new LED-enriched tail-lights.

Hyundai promises a higher grade of material and fit quality in the cabin, and the carmaker's new Flex Steer system has also been added to the small SUV.

As with the Santa Fe and the new Cerato, the system allows owners to select from three steering modes: Normal, Comfort and Sport.

Australia

An Australian debut for the updated ix35 is still to be confirmed, but TMR has contacted Hyundai Australia for details.

The most recent update to the Australian ix35 line-up has been the addition of new 'SE' models, drawn from the carmaker's European stock.
