2014 Honda Jazz Hatch Confirmed For September Unveiling

Honda has confirmed its new light Jazz hatch ('Fit' overseas) will make its Japanese market debut in September, although it has yet to reveal details of the new model. 

The news follows a leak earlier this month that saw a set of official brochure images surface online, revealing the new model from all angles. 

Honda announced today that it has begun construction at its new Yorii plant in Saitama, Japan. The new facility will be responsible for manufacturing the new Jazz, and the overseas Freed model.

It is unclear at this stage where Australia's new Jazz models will be sourced from, although we can likely expect Honda's Thailand plant to continue supplying our market. 

Little else is known about the new Jazz at this point, although it is clear the 2014 model will wear an evolution of the current car's styling. 

The new Jazz will also borrow styling cues from the larger Insight hybrid, drawing inspiration from the car's front-end design - while possibly also previewing the next Insight. 

We can likely expect improved materials in the cabin, and the leaked brochure highlights a large centre display screen, although this might only be offered in Japanese models. 

As for the new Jazz’s arrival in Australia, Honda Australia Director Stephen Collins told TMR recently that we can expect prices between $14,990 and $22,990, as per the current range.
