Mercedes-Benz' 2013 SL 63 AMG, the flagship in its new SL range, has been spied testing this week.

Unlike the last time we caught it out-and-about, the recent unveiling of the regular model means there's now less guesswork in what we can expect from the new SL 63 AMG.

With that in mind, AMG's engineers have done away with the heavy black camouflage, opting instead for simple white plastic sheets. (The sort you'd lay down before painting the bub's room, or performing a well-planned hit on an enemy.)

For now, there's little to tell the SL AMG apart from its less mental siblings, although the usual AMG wheels can be seen in front of meatier brakes and huge calipers at the front.

There's a set of four exhaust tips at the rear, along with a small boot-mounted lip spoiler, but the look at the back end is otherwise unchanged.

As for power; if AMG doesn't stick with its trusty 336kW 6.2 litre V8, expect the new car to be powered by Merc's new 5.5 litre V8 engine, producing upwards of 400kW and 800Nm of torque.
