Mercedes-Benz has given extra heat to its local B-Class range this Summer, with the Australian debut of the top-shelf B 250 hotbox.
Entering above the existing 90kW B 180 and 115kW B 200 models, the B 250 puts down a Golf GTI-matching 155kW and a Golf R-beating 350Nm of torque.
That power comes courtesy of a 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
With this combo, Merc promises the front-wheel-drive B 250 will hit 100km/h in 6.8 seconds, and fuel consumption is listed at 6.5 l/100km.
Standard features with the B 250 include a reversing camera, 18-inch alloy wheels on lowered suspension, Direct-Steer with variable servo assistance, drilled brake discs up front, artificial leather trim, Bi-Xenon headlights and a darkened 'de-chromed' styling pack.
