Kia Sorento Gets Tough New Towing Pack For Australia

Kia Australia has introduced a new towing kit that returns the down-ball rating of its 2013 Sorento range from 120kg to the 150kg limit of the previous model. 

While the new Sorento offers a strong braked towing capacity of 2500kg in manual form and 2000kg in auto, the downgraded ball rating has forced some buyers to look elsewhere.

The new package includes the tow bar itself, along with the trailer wiring harness, uprated rear springs to handle the increased limit, and new rating labels. 

The package is available for two- and all-wheel-drive configurations, and Kia says it has taken steps to leave the Sorento's Australia-specific ride and handling package unaffected. 

The complete package is priced at $977.34 plus fitting costs, while buyers converting from a 120kg ball can do so for $239.78 plus fitting.
