Honda's all-new CR-V SUV hits Australia this week, arriving just 20 months since it first debuted in concept form in California early last year.

The new model brings a new look for Japan's number-three carmaker, along with a smaller footprint and a more spacious cabin.

The entry 2.0 VTi 2WD manual now starts at $27,490, putting it $600 below the outgoing all-wheel-drive entry model - although the latter featured the more powerful 2.4 litre engine.

The range tops out with the 2.4 litre all-wheel-drive VTi-L automatic, priced at $42,290. A diesel option is also scheduled to join the range in late 2013, expected to be Honda's 110kW/350Nm 2.2 litre engine.
