Chevrolet has at last revealed its all-new Corvette in Detroit this week, bringing a new platform, a new look, and the return of an old favourite badge.
These new images and details offer the first official look at the 2013 Corvette - although leaked images and spy photos in the past year have left few surprises.
For Chevrolet, the new Corvette marks a push to return the big coupe to the dreams of young men and the poster space of Nissan GT-R loving adolescents.
Reviving the famed Stingray name also means Chevrolet isn't playing 'silly buggers' - and with a big new powerhouse of an engine, it could soon have a host of new fans.
Motivation for the 2013 Corvette is provided by GM's new Gen5 LT1 V8, producing "an estimated" 335kW and 610Nm.
The engine is matched to a seven-speed manual transmission (911, please state the nature of your emergency - Ed), which also offers an Active Rev Matching system.
A 0-100km/h time of under 4.0 seconds is also promised, bettering the 4.2 time of the current model.
Handling is also a focus for the new model, with Chevrolet working to bring the 2013 Corvette closer to the Nurburgring-eating performance of the C6 Corvette ZR1.
