Audi's new A4 Allroad will be joined in Australia this week by the larger A6 Allroad, revealed in Europe earlier this year.

As with the smaller A4, the A6 Allroad rounds out a range that includes the regular A6 sedan and the A6 Avant wagon. Here, the Allroad adds the usual styling add-ons, jacked-up suspension and off-road driving system.

Again like the A4 Allroad, the A6 Allroad will be limited to 150 cars for Australia, priced from $117,900 (plus on-roads).

That's nearly $12,000 and $23,000 more than the old model and the current entry Q7 SUV variant, although Audi says the A6 Allroad packs around $20,000 more in standard features.

Mechanical Package

The A6 Allroad is available only with Audi's 3.0 litre tubodiesel V6, producing 180kW and 580Nm of torque.

Combined with a 40:60 rear-biased quattro all-wheel-drive system and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the A6 Allroad lists fuel consumption at 6.3 l/100km - a 16 percent improvement over the previous Allroad.

The 0-100km/h sprint is listed at 6.6 seconds, and braked towing is listed at a hefty 2500kg.
