Lexus has shown off its revised and expanded RX SUV line at the Geneva Motor Show and confirmed Australian availability by the end of the year.

The RX 350 and RX 450 get new styling and a handful of new technologies, and the range will be expanded to three specification levels: Luxury, Sport Luxrury and F Sport, replacing the outgoing Prestige and Sport variants.

Among the styling tweaks for the updated RX are a new bumper and, of course, the new chrome-framed spindle grille.

The SUV's headlights have also been updated, and while the shape remains unchanged, the carmaker's familiar L-shaped LED daytime running light dominate the new look. The tail-lights have also been given a going-over.

In F Sport form, the RX gets a honeycomb mesh grille, a streamlined bumper design and larger five-spoke alloy wheels.

F Sport models get black and grey leather interior, upgraded front seats, alloy pedals and F Sport badging. The chassis is tightened up and paddle shifters fitted to control the six-speed automatic.

The hybrid RX 450h also gains a Sport mode to add to the ECO and EV driving modes.

The new RX carries the second generation Lexus Remote Touch system, digital radio (DAB+) will be fitted across the range.

Lexus Australia Chief Executive Tony Cramb said, "The refresh to RX Line as debuted in Geneva will only serve to strengthen the appeal of what is already one of Lexus' most awarded and popular vehicles."
