Lexus has waved its wand over the LandCruiser-based LX 570, blessing the big SUV with the latest generation of the brand's 'spindle' grille design and a handful of tweaks inside and out.
For the international model, the LX picks up lightly-tweaked LED-equipped headlights and tail-lights, restyled bumpers and mirror-integrated indicators.
Inside is a lightly-updated interior with new trim options and Lexus' Easy Access system that slides the steering wheel and driver's seat away when the ignition is switched off.
Turn Assist has been added to the 2012 LX, designed to apply brake-force to the inside wheels in cornering, tightening the big SUV's turning circle.
Standard creature comforts include four-zone climate control, reversing camera, GPS navigation and a nine-speaker premium audio packag ewith iPod, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
Safety features include 10 airbags covering all three rows, active front headrests, pre-collision technology and dynamic radar cruise control.
Launched at the Detroit Auto Show, the revised LX is scheduled to hit local showrooms in the second quarter of this year.
Speaking with TMR today, Lexus Australia CEO Tony Cramb said that it's too early to comment on the new model's pricing. Watch for more details in the coming months.
