Infiniti has revealed its updated-for-2012 FX range for the US market, bringing a number of styling and feature upgrades to the large SUV.

The update comes as Nissan readies the luxury brand for its Australian debut (or 'return') in 2012, with the FX set to feature in Infiniti's launch line-up.

This latest overhaul is also the second tweak to the FX range this year, following a number of new technical features joining the range in April.

For the 2012 model year, the FX sports an updated face, including new headlights, the company's restyled family grille design, and a new front bumper.

There's also a new Graphite Shadow exterior colour and, depending on the spec, a choice of 20- and 21-inch alloy wheels, adaptive front lights and smoked headlight internals.

In the cabin, the FX range gets heated front seats as standard equipment, while the all-wheel-drive FX35 gets aluminium roof rails and crossbars, along with aluminium pedals, graphite floor mates and the Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation System and Around View monitor.

Mechanically, the FX line-up remains unchanged, drawing power from either a 226kW/355 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine, or a 5.0 litre V8 producing 291kW and 500Nm of torque.

Watch for the FX to make its Australian debut sometime in 2012.
