2012 HYUNDAI I20

Hyundai Australia has revised the price and model structure of its i20 line-up to fill the spot left by the top-selling Getz, which is now into remaining-stock runout sales.

The 2012 i20 range will start at $14,990 driveaway for the entry-level i20 Active three-door manual - down from the plus-on-roads $15,490 launch price.

The range tops out at just under $20,000, with the i20 Elite automatic priced at $19,490. An automatic transmission is available for all models, and adds a $2000 premium.

With the arrival of the all-new Accent at the upper end of the light car segment, the i20 range has also been rationalised.

All 2012 i20s will be powered solely by a 73kW 1.4 litre petrol engine, with the larger 91kW 1.6 of the superseded i20 Elite and Premium models now reserved for the Accent.

The base i20 Active is still available in three and five-door configuration and retains the option of a four-speed automatic (a five-speed manual is standard across the range), but the range-topping Premium model has been axed.

Equipment levels are unchanged, with all models retaining six standard airbags, stability control, Bluetooth telephony and USB iPod integration.
