2012 Honda Fireblade Australian Pricing

With the release of the 2012 Fireblade CBR1000RR imminent (February), Honda Australia has released pricing for what will be the 20^th anniversary of the legendary Fireblade nameplate.

Entry level to the CBR1000RR club begins at $18,490 for the standard bike, while the ABS version will have a sticker of $19,490. Honda is promising improved rideability and performance from the 2012 machines.

The 2012 Fireblade boasts changes to the front and rear suspension. The rear suspension has the additional benefit of the world's first balance-free rear cushion made by Showa while the front features a telescopic inverted fork with an inner tube and a newly adapted Showa big piston front fork.

The result of these suspension modifications is significantly improved stability in both damping force and shock-absorbing performance, leading to improved traction and stability.

A newly designed, 12-spoke, lightweight aluminium cast wheel has been adopted for both the front and rear.

A new all-digital LCD instrument design provides excellent visibility and high functionality. It includes a 5-level display, with the REV indicator linked to a digital tachometer that instantly transmits accurate information to the rider.

The liquid-cooled DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine features a displacement of 999cc, and the Programmed Dual Sequential Fuel Injection System (PGM-DSFI) was revisited and enhanced for 2012 to improve driveability.

As with the outgoing CBR1000RR, the 2012 machines are equipped with the Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) ensuring stable handling.

The standard 2012 Fireblade will be available in three colours; Victory Red, Graphite Black and Tri Colour, the ABS model will only be available in Graphite Black.

Expect an early February release at Honda dealers across the country.
