Ford Australia has announced a range-wide price cut for the 2012 Falcon FG MkII range, ahead of its sales launch in the coming weeks.
The entry-level Falcon XT will start things off at $37,235, marking a $3055 price drop. Ford says it has also added an additional $1050 in value to the XT's standard features.
The XR6 will also come in under $40,000, priced at $39,990 - a $3000 drop. The XR6 picks up $2650 in new features, including an eight-inch touchscreen multimedia system with USB connectivity.
It also picks up a reverse-sensing system and projector headlights.
The G6E and G6E Turbo ($46,835, $56,235) also get the eight-inch screen, along with satellite navigation and an alarm. Externally, there are LED position lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Both get side curtain-airbags, plus, like the XR6, a reverse-sensing system and projector headlights.
"FG Falcon MkII represents the most advanced, most comprehensively equipped and best value large car Ford Australia has ever produced," Ford Australia President and CEO Bob Graziano said.
"With fresh exterior styling, a host of new features and the latest smart technologies boosting Falcon's already extensive equipment levels, together with a customer-focused new pricing strategy, it delivers outstanding value for large car buyers and builds on the rich heritage of the Falcon brand."
The Falcon Ute range also benefits from a higher standard specification and reduced pricing.
On entry-level workhorse models, Ford says it has added around $4,500 worth of extra value, while sports XR6 Styleside Box variants gain over $6,000 of extra value.
