Holden are set to unveil the production version of their VE Sportwagon at the Melbourne Motor Show, starting the 29th of February which will no-doubt prove to be a crowd-pulling favourite just as the prototype was at last year’s Sydney Motor Show. If you like the idea of the Sportwagon, and can’t wait until the end of February, then there is an opportunity to get a good look a Sportwagon being driven in anger at this years WPS Bathurst 12 Hour, being held from the 8th-10th of February.

News just out confirms that Holden are not resting on their laurels, and will be fielding an SS 6.0-litre V8 Sportwagon in Jack Daniel’s racing livery at Mount Panorama. The JD Sportwagon will be driven by V8 Supercar drivers, Shane Price, Cameron McConville and enduro specialist Nathan Pretty.

“With Sportwagon due in Holden showrooms across the country in the coming months, we saw this as the perfect opportunity to underline the sporting pedigree of the latest model in the VE range whilst highlighting its great style and handling. Holden has a great history of success at Mount Panorama, so what better place for the new ultra cool Sportwagon to be showcased than on the track at Bathurst?,” said GM Holden’s Executive Director–Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, Alan Batey.

GM Holden’s VE Sportwagon will be available in the full range of VE Commodore variants including Omega, Berlina and Calais, plus the sporty SV6, SS and the range topping SS-V and Calais V models.
