Tata?s new Nano ?peoples car? isn?t due to arrive in Indian showrooms until the end of this year but that hasn?t stopped it having an influence on the Indian used car market. Used prices for India?s most popular (and currently cheapest) car, the Maruti 800, have plummeted 30 percent just on the anticipation of the little Tata showing up at years end.
The Maruti 800 is smaller than the Nano yet costs around double the Nano?s expected US$2,500 sticker, which rightfully has many car purchasers waiting for the Nano, or pushing hard for a good deal on the current crop of secondhand cheapies.
Lets hope the Nano drives better than its spindly look and cheap price suggest...
