A MotoGP replica of Suzuki's GSX-R1000 sportsbike is heading our way, thanks to Aussie Chris Vermeulen's front-running form on his Suzuki in MotoGP.

Decked out in Suzuki MotoGP blue livery (as used by Vermeulen and team-mate Loris Capirossi), just 50 of the MotoGP replica’s are earmarked for Oz – guaranteeing, you would have to think, collectability status for the big road rocket.

"The GSX-R1000 is already a superb-looking motorcycle and the special-edition MotoGP replica looks amazing," Perry Morison, General Manager (Motorcycles) of Suzuki Australia said.

"With Chris Vermeulen and Loris Capirossi's recent run of strong performances and the Australian Grand Prix approaching, demand is set to be high for this special-edition model."

A regular race winner in the Australian Superbike Championship, the road-going GSX-R1000 features an advanced 999cc, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This particular mill is the most powerful, responsive and cleanest-running open-class power-plant ever produced by Suzuki. It also offers riders the choice of three performance settings from a handlebar-mounted switch (Suzuki's Drive Mode Selector), and race-bred suspension, brakes and aerodynamic bodywork.

Race-replica decals and Suzuki’s distinctive MotoGP blue complete the ‘race-special’ look.

Suzuki's MotoGP replica GSX-R1000 will be available shortly for $18,490 RRP (inc GST, plus dealer and delivery), with a two-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
