Replacements For Enzo, 612, 599 Hinted At By Ferrari CEO

WITH THE JULY UNVEILING of the 458 Italia and the California before it, Ferrari is turning its attention to developing successors to the 599 GTB Fiorano, 612 Scaglietti and the hero Enzo.

Speaking with the UK's car magazine, Ferrari CEO and Managing Director Amedeo Felisa outlined a basic timeline for the launch of each model's replacement, starting with the 612 Scaglietti.

Launched in 2004, the 612 is currently the elder statesman of the Ferrari familia, and a replacement is expected to appear in showrooms as soon as 2012.

Following the successor to the 612 will be a new hero car, succeeding the famed Enzo. Produced from 2002 to 2004, the Enzo will meet its replacement in the near future, though Felisa wouldn't be pushed for a date.

Down the road, Ferrari will unveil a replacement for the 599 GTB Fiorano by 2015, around the same time Lamborghini is likely to launch its Murcielago successor.

The 599 HGTE package was recently made available in Australia, bringing sharper handling and improved performance.
