Australia’s best-priced small car, the Proton Savvy, is now even better value for money, with Proton announcing special final quarter pricing on two of its most cost-effective cars as part of the company's end of year sale.

The five-door Proton Savvy manual is now available for a special driveaway price of just $13,990, while the five-door Savvy A/MT can be driven away for $14,990, saving buyers the on-road costs (in both cases) of at least $1,500. Metallic paint is an option for both manual and AM/T models, for an additional $350.

The Savvy's pricing and standard equipment levels mean that, feature for feature, it is well ahead of other small hatches in terms of value for money.

"As a city car it is without peer offering strong fuel economy, compact size and excellent safety features," said Proton Cars Australia sales and operations manager Billy Falconer.

"There may have been a pause in fuel price rises recently but the pressure is still there and we are finding an increasing number of people coming into our showrooms to explore the advantages of the economical and value packed Savvy.

"This adjustment in pricing will make the Savvy even more attractive amongst new car buyers and adds to the Proton range of competitively priced vehicles such as the Satria Neo, now from $14,990," he added.

The Savvy standard equipment list includes ABS Anti-lock brakes, power steering, front power windows, reverse parking sensors AM/FM/CD stereo, remote central locking, keyless entry, halogen front fog lamps and engine immobiliser and 15" alloy wheels.

The Savvy is powered by a 55kW 1.2 litre engine hooked up to a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed Automatic/Manual clutchless transmission. Weighing just 950kgs, the Savvy features impressive fuel economy of just 5.7L per 100km(as per ADR 81/01).

If you're in the market for Australia’s most economical ute, Proton has not forgotten you either. Jumbuck buyers can now benefit from the inclusion of a free tow bar and wiring pack as well as a protective tray liner (including fitting); all up a $1,200 saving.

According to Proton Cars Australia sales and operations manager Billy Falconer the special offers are designed to add value and give buyers even more reason to consider a Proton at a time when fuel economy and economic caution is vital.

"The value-add on the Jumbuck half-tonner enhances the package and gives buyers an improved work platform which is both economical to run and inexpensive to purchase," he said.

The Jumbuck is the lowest-cost commercial vehicle to own and operate in Australia according to calculations on motoring organization the NRMA's Business Wise website.

The Proton end-of-year sale is on until December 31st or while stocks last.
