So you’ve got the new Porsche 911 sitting in under the driveway, you’re wearing a Porsche polo, and you figure there’s nothing left to complete the picture. You are the living embodiment of the Porsche spirit.

But wait.  A wander out to the backyard reveals… hold on… where’s your Porsche barbie, mate?

Get the cheque book out, friends, because Porsche Design Studio has teamed up with the US arm of Barbeques Galore to create the X-Series barbeque, and it’s a pricey unit.

Available in a matte black finish for US$5,999 and stainless steel for $8,499, you’re probably already a Porsche owner if you can spare the clams for a grill at that kind of price – but if you are, how can you possibly say no?

Fitted with infra-red ceramic burners and utilising ‘Crossway’ technology – using up to 50 percent less gas and emitting 80 percent less smoke than your average barbeque – heck, the Porsche Design Studio X-Series BBQ practically pays for itself in environmental kudos points.

"The collaboration with Porsche Design Studio has been an incredible process to be a part of," said Jeffery Sears, CEO for Barbeques Galore.

"Porsche Design Studio brought their impeccable sense of detail, beauty and best-in-class engineering to create a superior outdoor grilling system. We incorporated Crossray(R) which is the most advanced gas grilling system available to consumers. The result is a winning combination of functionality and style found in the X-Series."
