Mitsubishi Challenger Recalled For Child Restraint Fitting Fix

Mitsubishi has issued a recall for its Challenger 4WD due to an anomaly with the child restraint anchor points.

The carmaker says the weld nuts for the child restraint anchor fitting may be missing at both the driver's and passenger side rear restraint point. 

This may cause problems for secure child restraint fitting, increasing the risk of injury to children secured in the child restraint in the event of a collision.

Affected models are from the 2014 model-year, and just six are included in the recall.

Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for the affected vehicles are MMAGYKH40EF003806, MMAGYKH40EF003808, MMAGYKH40EF003810, MMAGYKH40EF003807, MMAGYKH40EF003809 and MMAGYKH40EF003811.

Other Mitsubishi models recalled this year include the Triton and Pajero Sport, with each recalled to deal with a potential tow bar problem.
