Money talks and you know what walks… So when the motor racing enthusiast members of the SLR Club said they wanted a track version of their favourite machine – they got it. British motor racing specialists RML Group developed the new SLR 722 GT to keep the club members happy and why wouldn’t you be.

A limited run of just 21 two-seater SLR 722 GT’s will be produced. They feature a reduced kerb weight of 1390 kilograms, while the supercharged AMG 5.5-litre V8-engine has been upgraded to produce 500kW/830Nm at 1.75 bar boost. The result is a 0-100km/h time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h.

The 722 GT’s suspension has also seen some modifications in the interest of track-day performance with a new wheel location system at both front and rear providing improved kinematics and lateral dynamics. A modified stabiliser at the front axle reduces roll when cornering, while an adjustable wheel camber combined with shock absorbers with variable compression and rebound characteristics allow the suspension to be set up for different racetracks.

Also helping to keep the weight down are the18in light- alloy wheels with central locks allowing faster in-race tyre-changes particularly when used in conjuction with the pneumatic jacking system. Looks horn and goes like stink which has got to put a smile on the faces of the SLR Club members.
