Jaguar Cars have just announced the release of the all-new special edition Portfolio XKR. The “Portfolio” version of the XKR sees a number of improvements over the standard XKR, the most serious of which is a set of new Alcon stompers but lets not get ahead of ourselves...

The XKR is already capable of hitting an electronically controlled top speed of 250km/h and can accelerate to 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds, so Jaguar have left the drivetrain as is and focussed their attention on giving the beautiful cat a healthy dose of attitude with aesthetic enhancements.

On the outside the XKR Portfolio benefits from an enhanced front bumper while the standard XKR bonnet louvres and aluminium-finish grilles and side power vents remain they are enhanced by exclusive Celestial Black exterior paint and 20-inch Cremona five spoke alloy wheels.

The interior of the Portfolio XKR features a unique Engine-Spin aluminium veneer trim along with a new alloy and leather gearshift selector, soft grab door handles, contrast stitching throughout the cabin, leather edged mats and a Jaguar logo and distinctive Portfolio treadplates on the doorsills.

The interior will also be the soft grain leather "Luxury Sport Interior Theme" with seats in either warm charcoal (with ivory contrast stitching) or ivory (with slate blue contrast stitching).

Making sure the XKR Portfolio is heard as well as seen is the Bowers and Wilkins version of Jaguar’s 525W Premium Audio system. The Portfolio’s sound system is the first production example of Jaguar’s new partnership with renowned audio entertainment specialists Bowers and Wilkins. High-output, low distortion Kevlar mid-range speakers and specially designed aluminium dome tweeters are said to deliver superb mid-range and extended high-frequency responses.

But enough of that...the big news for car enthusiasts with a penchant for Jaguar’s is the new set of Alcon stoppers. Jaguar's Special Vehicles team has worked alongside leading brake manufacturer Alcon to create the largest, most powerful brakes a production Jaguar has ever carried

"The XKR is a truly luxurious sports car; the XKR Portfolio is an even more luxurious XKR. Its specification is unique, and very special. It combines breathtaking performance and dramatic beauty with exclusive, individual touches of craftsmanship and equipment that lift it to another level. The XKR Portfolio continues our program our creating exclusive bespoke vehicles for our customers", said Dorian Lapthorne, General Manager, Jaguar Australia.

To ensure the exclusivity of the XKR Portfolio, there will only be 10 units made available to the Australian market when they go on sale in October, all of them coupes and priced from $246,000.
