The Insider will be heading over to Brisbane for the press launch of Isuzu’s D-MAX late next week and provided that he remembers to turn the camera on, he will have a few pics of the event for us all... In the meantime, we can now also confirm that Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) will use the Sydney Motor Show to debut the new D-MAX range to the public.

The D-MAX range will include 4x2 and 4x4 variants in ute and cab-chassis configurations, all powered by Isuzu's respected 3.0-litre common-rail turbo-diesel, with up to 360Nm of torque and class-leading fuel economy.

"As a new entrant in the crowded Australian car market, Isuzu UTE is looking to its presence at AIMS to launch our exciting and economical new D-MAX Ute range to the public of greater Sydney," said IUA's managing director Hitoshi Kono.

Isuzu has the runs on the board when it comes to diesel power and light trucks, being the world's top-selling light-to-heavy truck brand, with a worldwide vehicle shipment volume totalling 642,000 last year.

The D-MAX is the latest version of the Isuzu-designed one-tonne ute range that has been sold in Australia as the Holden Rodeo for the last 28 years.

Team TMR will be in Sydney for the 2008 Australian International Motor Show and we’ll be bringing you all of the D-MAX action (in fact we’ll be bringing you the entire show) – be sure to tune in on the 9th of October.
