Is it just us, or have Korean automakers got real sexy all of a sudden? First it was the Hyundai Genesis, then the Kia Soul and pro_cee'd - and that's before we even get to the concept cars.

The Tiburon's replacement is rumoured to be based off the delicious Veloster concept, and the surprisingly beautiful ix-onic show car is meant to preview the next-gen Tucson.

Kia's very enticing VG concept will  make its debut at the Seoul Motor Show later today, but now there's a new Korean concept on the horizon: the Nuvis. And, if this teaser pic is anything to go by, it should be quite a looker.

The Hyundai Nuvis HCD-11 (no, we've no idea what the numbers are for, just roll with it) will be getting officially unwrapped next week at the New York Auto Show.

Styled at Hyundai's US design centre in Irvine, California, the Nuvis could possibly be a sneak peek at what the Korean brand has in store for the Santa Fe. Except for those two enormous gullwing doors... we'd gamble that those somehow get ditched on the way to the dealership.

We've got no other info at this stage, however all will be revealed at New York next week. Stay tuned.

Press Release

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., April 1, 2009 - The world will peer into Hyundai's future when the Nuvis concept makes its world debut at the 2009 New York Auto Show. The Nuvis is the eleventh signature concept car to be designed at the company's California Design Center in Irvine, Calif. In addition to showcasing the brand's cutting-edge capabilities, Nuvis also hints at a possible design direction for a future-generation crossover, blending attributes of a tall urban car and a premium utility vehicle.
