HSV HAS CONFIRMED it will bring in a raft of updates to its E Series line-up, which comprises the Clubsport R8, GTS, Maloo, W427 and the Statesman-based Grange and Senator.

The major upgrade will be a multi-million dollar exercise for the Clayton-based manufacturer, constituting a huge revamp of its line-up.

The specialist Holden tuner confirmed this week that the E Series 2 will launch on September 9, or as the advertising material presents the date, 09:09:09

"We know our customers want the latest technologies, as well as distinctive luxury and performance features in their HSV," Phil Harding, HSV's Managing Director said.

“Our customers will be delighted with the delivery of improved economy, more power, some truly exciting driver enhancements and distinctive design themes."

HSV won't go into specifics on exactly what changes will be made, but the company says that more power, vastly improved fuel economy and revised styling are to be expected.

Mechanical refinements to the 6.2 litre LS3 V8 used by the E-series range is expected, increasing power to around 325kW and bringing fuel economy to just under 14 l/100km on the combined cycle.

New body styling is also rumoured to be in the pipeline: HSV is said to be keen to further distinguish its volume-selling sedan range from the Commodore upon which it’s based.
