UPDATE 11/05/07 - It may not come as a shock that the auction sale for John Schneider's Dukes of Hazzard Charger appears to have fallen through...

"As the week has progressed, it appears more and more evident that the winning bidder from my 'Bo's General Lee' auction has no intention of coming up with the promised funds," Schneider said.

"The deadline for deposit was missed on Monday and nobody is more upset or disappointed than I am. This may have been the most publicly viewed auction ever! People's word should be their bond."

You can always re-list it John.

Actor John Schneider who played the original Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard has just sold his personal 1969 Dodge Charger for US9,900,500 on Ebay. The Charger is painted to resemble the General Lee and was one of many similar Dodges used in the filming of the hit TV series.

Schneider who is known to indulge in car racing had a 725hp Hemi fitted to the Charger. The $9.9 million dollar bid is believed to be the second highest price attained at auction for any car.

The highest price ever was the $US11 million paid for a 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royale Sports Coupe in 1984 at Christies.
