Suzuki?s Kizashi concept has been a genuine showstopper for the automaker; which may surprise some - when you say Suzuki, most people's thinking stops at the diminutive Swift and the Grand Vitara.
The good news then is that the Kizashi is headed for production. The bad news, if you could call it that, is that it won?t look quite like the concept.
As with most concept-to-production transformations, the consumer Kizashi has been watered down significantly. Thankfully though, while not as mind-blowingly hot as the concept, it?s still likely to be quite a good looking car.
The production Kizashi?and there?s no word on whether it will keep that name?maintains the basic themes presented in the concept, with an Audi-like grille and front treatment, mildly aggressive downward angle of the headlights, and the sporty exhaust tips protruding from the rear.
No matter how you slice it, it?s safe to say that Suzuki is heading for a sales winner with the Kizashi (if it plays its cards right and the build quality is where it should be, and the features and materials up to scratch).
The wish of this reporter is that Suzuki would just give us what we see in the concept. What a beautiful piece of automotive design.
