If you've got some time to waste, a fairly up-to-date PC and a love of all things Ferrari, then the recently released Ferrari Virtual Race could be right up your alley.

To be honest, even if you loathe anything with the Prancing Horse badge you'll probably still get a kick out of this game - there's a lot of fun to be had.

Graphics are top-notch for those of you with highly-specced computers, and while the gameplay isn't entirely realistic (drifting seems a little too easy), it's pretty accessible for novices.

The 430 Scuderia, 612 Scaglietti and 599 GTB Fiorano are all available to drive, and Ferrari says an impending update will add the F430, F430 Spider and California to your virtual stable. An online version will also be released in the near future too, which is good news for all you multiplayer junkies.

Oh, did we mention it's free?

Yep, you won't have to drop a cent to get your hands on Ferrari Virtual Race, which is a damn good deal considering the quality of the game. Be warned though: minimum specs are fairly high, and you'd best check whether your system measures up before downloading the 70-odd megabyte installer.

So tell your secretary to cancel your appointments and block your calls - you've got some racin' to do. Head over to Ferrari's web portal to score yourself a copy of Ferrari Virtual Race, and enjoy.
