Back in ye olde month of April this year, we told you a wee bit about the upcoming targa version of the Bugatti Veyron.

Well you can shuffle the "upcoming" part over to the next big thing, because the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is here.  Alright, it's almost here.

The Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport will feature a targa-like removable roof, but of course with no storage space available, you'll be leaving it at home.  Don't fret about rain though, as a fabric roof will be stowed in the vehicle for such an event.

For those wondering whether a big chunk missing from the vehicle's structure will impair handling and rigidity, Bugatti says the Grand Sport's body will be every bit as strong and its handling just as sublime as its hard-top sibling.

Scheduled to make its debut at the Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance on the 17th of August, where Bugatti will also auction off the rights to the first Grand Sport available for sale in 2009.

A 1001hp (746kW), 407km/h topless supercar?  I think I could live with that.  Although with only 80 specimens planned, I better get rich good and quick.
