A week on from the local introduction of three new models to the brand's compact SUV line-up, a new X1 variant - likely to be the BMW X1 M Sport - has been spied testing in Europe.
With just about every series in the BMW range featuring an M Sport package, it was only a matter of time until an X1 version reared its head.
As with the brand's other M Sport offerings, the X1 M Sport package will likely bypass engine modifications (leaving that to a dedicated X1 M down the line) in favour of styling, handling and aerodynamic tweaks.
Already, it's clear from these photos that the X1 M Sport will benefit from a sportier body kit, with a new front and rear bumper figuring among the changes.
BMW has yet to confirm the launch of any new X1 offerings, but an early 2011 overseas debut for the X1 M Sport package is likely.
