With the blessing of BMW’s Customer Racing program, German outfit Schubert Motorsport is setting out to bring home victory in the Nurburgring 24-Hour Race in the BMW M3 GT4, on the 23rd and 24th of May.

Driven by experienced BMW Works WTCC rivals Andy Priaulx (UK), Jörg Müller (Germany) and Augusto Farfus (Brazil), the Schubert Motorsports M3 GT4 will make its race debut at the 24-Hour event.

The professional racing trio will be joined by motor racing journalists Marcus Schurig and Jochen Übler, both experienced race steerers (including track-time at the Nurburgring).

BMW Motorsport Director, Mario Theissen, said: "Although we will not be represented by a works team at this year's 24-hour race, our Customer Racing programme ensures that our fans will still see plenty of BMW racing cars and BMW works drivers.

We will be particularly interested in how the new BMW M3 GT4 performs, which is fielded by Schubert Motorsport in cooperation with ‘sport auto'. Jörg Müller and Andy Priaulx are two former overall winners in the Eifel. Spectators can certainly look forward to an exciting weekend."

In 2008, one third of the 150 cars that completed the Nurburgring 24-Hour race were BMW made.  The German carmaker has 114 class victories to its name, making it the most successful manufacturer in the event’s history.
