HEIN WAGNER, a blind man living in South Africa, broke his own world record this week by piloting a Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series to 322.5km/h.

Blind since birth, Wagner previously set the world land speed record for a blind person in 2005 when he took a Maserati Gransport to 269km/h.

Tearing along a closed runway at the Upington International Airport in Durbanville, South Africa, Wagner was guided from the passenger seat by friend Ray Wakefield.

Driving the SL 65 AMG Black Series sponsored by local businessman Lolly Jackson, Wagner maintained the 322.5km/h speed for 1000 metres before slowing.

Afterwards, Wagner said that his next mission was to pilot a Boeing jet from London to Johannesburg.
