German Porsche tuners 9ff have announced that their uber-quick GT9 supercar is now available for sale, with just 20 examples of the GT3-based 400kph+ beast being made. The price? A cool €498,000 ($814,900 AUD).

If you're worried about value for money though, there's no need to fret. While it's a substantial amount of cash for a car, your briefcase full of Euros will buy you the world's second-fastest road-going automobile, with a top speed of 409kph. That's faster than a Bugatti Veyron and more rapid than a Ferrari Enzo. In fact, the only car faster than the GT9 is the Shelby Supercars Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo, which wins by a nose with its top speed of 411kph.

The impressive numbers don't stop there either: the 4-litre twin turbo Porsche flat six cranks out a huge 726kW at 7850rpm, while peak torque is a staggering 964Nm at 5970rpm. All of that mumbo converts into a 3.4-second zero to 100kph time, while the true measure of the supercar - the 0-200kph sprint - is dispatched in just 8.2 seconds. Those of you with a private runway at your disposal and balls the size of watermelons may also be interested to know that 0-300kph can be achieved in a very quick 16.4 seconds - blisteringly fast by any standard.

This is well and truly a race car for the road, and backing up that sentiment is the GT9's options list. Depending on your own personal tastes and the thickness of your wallet, 9ff will help make your GT9 as road-friendly or as race-ready as you want, with a full leather or bare carbon-fibre interior on the menu for the cockpit and a sequential or traditional H-pattern shifter available for the 6-speed racing transaxle. Of course, if money is no object 9ff will deck out your GT9 in whatever else you want too. Shagpile carpet and gold-plated rims take your fancy? 9ff may cringe at the thought, but if you've got the dollars they'll comply with your demands.

Of course, a mega-dollar supercar must have the good looks to back up its boutique pricetag and the GT9 doesn't disappoint. 9ff have managed to produce a design that places form behind function, yet still comes out looking like, well, a million dollars. Those exposed heat exchangers at the rear of the car just scream "race" while there's no denying the utter coolness of that chopped roofline, which aside from lowering drag and increasing downforce makes the GT9 look totally badass. All I know is that if I were a petrol-headed plutocrat rather than a down-at-heel blogger, I'd snap one of these up in a second. I'll take mine in white with a grey stripe, thanks.

Thanks for the tip, Patrick!
